Matthew Williams showed the 1017 ALYX 9SM Spring/Summer 2022 collection titled "beyond" along the foamy surf on a beach. Comfort and skin were two big take aways from the collection. Stretch and soft fabrics appeared on bikinis, leggings, shirt dresses, and bathing suits. Clean lines and an industrial minimalism has long informed the brand. This exercise continues albeit within the context of the warmer months. A soft color palette and breathable materials lighten up an otherwise leather-heavy collection. Of note is the hand embellishment of dresses, tops and skirts this season. It is said "each dress features over 18,000 beads affixed by more than 320 meters of thread in a process that takes nearly 9 days to complete by a single artisan."
