For the Spring-Summer 2025 show, Marras once again transported the audience to another era, directed by the iconic life of Anna Maria Pierangeli or better known as Pier Angeli. As a popular Hollywood sensation, Angeli became the Marras Muse for the season as the collection draws life from her story- one of dreams, love and a woman's success in both worlds.
The Dust on the Stage is Extremely Dangerous
"La polvere del palcoscenico è molto pericolosa!" warned Angeli's grandmother as the young actress prepared to embark on her Hollywood journey. Angeli, a woman torn between two worlds, became the inspiration for a collection that reflected the delicate balance between her Sardinian roots and her new home in Beverly Hills. Across eighty-five stunning runway looks, each ensemble uniquely captured the essence of both realities. From the intricate jacquard designs portraying Sardinia's heritage Nuraghe structures to landscape prints of the island in ecru and black, Marras exquisitely honored Angeli's love for Sardinia- which they both share- with grace and reverence.
In a seamless tropical burst, her star-studded life in Beverly Hills was intricately represented in the form of palm trees, exotic flowers with vibrant colors on black backgrounds and surfboards in penicillin green and orange.
A Life of Beautiful Contrasts
Pier Angeli lives within the details as Marras seamlessly wove her legendary life into the design language of the collection. The interplay of overlapping fabrics, intricate embroidery, delicate lace, and evocative prints create a harmonious tension through the contrasts. Unexpected details in the form of speckles, leaf prints, spotted florals and trompe l'oeil ants bring new life to familiar silhouettes. Among the collection's many nuances, contrasts are embraced through the transformation of raffia into knitwear and the treatment of denim with the same finesse as leather.
