The hotly anticipated adidas x Gucci collaboration designed by Gucci Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, launches today. The collection was first shown during the ‘Exquisite Gucci’ fall winter 2022 runway show. It’s now available for purchase. For the landmark collaboration, Alessandro Michele expertly mixed the codes of Gucci with adidas’ sportswear history. The result is high fashion streetwear silhouettes that are both sporty and luxurious. Interestingly, Michele found particular inspiration from an archival 1979 adidas catalogue.
In the dazzling new campaign captured by photographer Carlijn Jacobs, models take active poses in ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and jewelry. The iconic GG monogram and the iconic three adidas stripes start a new dialogue together. Jacquard fabrics, leather heals, suede loafers, and silk scares are just a few of the unique highlights of the collaboration.
Also of note, both brands’ commitment to sustainability is on display. The collection features multiple pieces crafted with polyester, cotton, and viscose to reduce its environmental impact.
The collection will be available online, below, and through Gucci Pop-Ups. In addition to the pop-ups, Gucci will open dedicated pop-in locations in existing stores: New York Wooster Street and Fifth Avenue, Gucci East Hampton, Miami’s Aventura Mall, Chicago Michigan Ave, Houston Galleria, Atlanta Lenox, and Holt Renfrew Toronto Yorkdale. A dedicated product selection will also be available on the adidas CONFIRMED app.
