Designer Sebastian Meunier presented the Ann Demeulemeester SS2020 collection in Paris. Meunier was inspired by a live performance of musician Lingua Ignota covering Dolly Parton’s Jolene in a mournful lament. Deconstruction remains a focus for the collection as knitwear, formalwear, tops, skirts, and dresses are all striped away revealing touches of fishnet, skin, or lace.
The result is a highly technical effort to rid taboos and embrace a modern, more open idea of femininity. A stand out look for us was the all-strap top that walked with an open toe boot. Explore the full collection below.
