The renown oversized silhouettes clean up nicely over sharp knitwear and pops of color. The post-woke ensembles further solidify Demna’s design thesis – one that approaches ironic sophistication without slipping into parody.
As an exercise in defining Balenciaga’s codes, it’s only fitting the collection appears through a digital interface. It could be easily argued Demna’s Balenciaga seemed to predict if not define what cool personal style looks like online. The two-way effect of influence in social media on fashion cannot be overstated. So why not have the resort collection interface where it already lives?
