For Balenciaga Fall Winter 2022 'The Lost Tapes,' creative director Demna (FKA Demna Gvasalia), presented The Lost Tape collection. Inspired by a time when fashion was alive with raw ideas and anti-fashion deconstruction, the underground served as the leading force for change. Defined by the people that made the 90s era what it was, a series of films were directed by Harmony Korine and repurposed for the collection.
Additionally, in a very Balenciaga way, Demna asked Diane Pernet to write a review on the collection in the old style that critics such as Cathy Horny became celebrated for before criticism was leveled by the crushing forces of marketing.
