Bottega Veneta Collaborates with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier for Milan Design Week Installation “On the Rocks”

April 18, 2024

Bottega Veneta, under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, has partnered with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier to present a captivating installation titled "On the Rocks" at Palazzo San Fedele during Milan Design Week. The centerpiece of the exhibition is the LC14 Tabouret Cabanon, an iconic Le Corbusier design that showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the Cassina carpentry workshop.

The LC14 Tabouret, originally designed for Le Corbusier's minimalist cabin in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, was inspired by a wooden whiskey box found washed up on the rocks beneath the cabin. Bottega Veneta has created custom editions of the Tabouret, featuring a charred-wood technique and signature leatherwork in four vibrant colors.

The installation campaign, shot by Pierre Debusschere, features model Anok Yai interacting with the leather tribute to the Tabouret. Yai expressed her inspiration working with Matthieu Blazy and Bottega Veneta, stating that the collaborative environment and the Tabouret's versatility empowered her to be "dark, naked and free."

"On the Rocks" will be open to the public from April 16 to 20 at Palazzo San Fedele, offering visitors a preview of Bottega Veneta's future headquarters. This marks Blazy's second Milan Design Week installation, following last year's collaboration with Gaetano Pesce, and further solidifies the brand's commitment to showcasing innovative design and craftsmanship.
