Bottega Veneta Unveils Lunar New Year Campaign with Chinese Stars in Liuyang

Bottega Veneta Chinese New Year 2025

From the city that gave fireworks to the world, Bottega Veneta launches its Chinese New Year 2025 campaign in Liuyang, where pyrotechnic craft has illuminated celebrations for over 1,400 years.

Bottega Veneta assembles a powerhouse cast for the campaign: ambassadors Yo Yang and Shu Qi join acclaimed actor Fan Wei against the electric backdrop of a city at night. Yang cuts a sharp figure in the house's tailored outerwear, while Shu Qi wears a dramatic abstract-print dress that catches the glow of festival lights. Fan Wei, known for his versatile screen presence, appears in a refined herringbone coat, carrying Bottega Veneta's signature intrecciato leather.

Behind the lens is Wing Shya, whose work on Wong Kar Wai films defined a new visual language for Chinese cinema. His signature style transforms city nights into a celebration of light and movement, where fireworks slice through darkness and neon reflects off leather. The imagery draws a golden thread between Venice and China, connected by centuries of craft and spectacle. Adding to this visual drama, Belgian artist Le Motel reimagines Stefanie Sun's "Green Light," lending a contemporary pulse to the night's festivities.

The collection balances Bottega Veneta's clean lines with moments of cultural reverence. For the Year of the Snake, the Tosca bag appears with a serpentine handle in polished metal. Another version features a jade stone closure – a material prized in China for millennia. Ready-to-wear pieces move from structured daywear to evening looks in deep blacks and jewel tones, mirroring the campaign's play of light against dark.

The collection launches globally on January 15, 2025, marking a celebration that bridges Italian craftsmanship with Chinese tradition. Explore the complete collection, including exclusive pieces and seasonal offerings, at bottegaveneta.com.
