Broadway witnessed a historic gathering of stars on Sunday, March 23rd, as the highly anticipated revival of Othello opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Among the standout attendees was cast member Andrew Burnap, who portrays Cassio in the production, making a sophisticated statement in impeccably tailored Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello.

Burnap's elegant ensemble featured a gray wool chiné suit with high-waisted pants, complemented by a crisp white satin piqué shirt and a subtle Prince of Wales silk tie. His polished look was completed with glazed leather derbies and a refined caiman belt, capturing the perfect blend of modern luxury and timeless style.
This production marks the first Broadway revival of Shakespeare’s tragedy in over 40 years and has already shattered records, grossing an unprecedented $2.8 million in a single week. The drawing power comes from its stellar cast: two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington commands the stage in the title role, while Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal portrays the villainous Iago. Molly Osborne takes on the crucial role of Desdemona, with Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Emilia.
The red carpet transformed into a who's who of entertainment and politics, with President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden making a special appearance, sharing warm moments backstage with the cast. Hollywood royalty turned out in full force: Jennifer Lopez attended with Emme Muñiz, while Oscar winners Jamie Lee Curtis, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ariana DeBose showed their support.
The guest list read like an awards ceremony roster, featuring Angela Bassett, Colman Domingo, Danielle Brooks, Spike Lee with Tonya Lewis Lee, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Katie Holmes, Keegan-Michael Key, Nicole Scherzinger, Martha Stewart, and many others from film, television, music, and media.
The Washington family was well-represented, with Pauletta Washington joined by their children John David, Katia, and Olivia, while Jake Gyllenhaal celebrated with his family, including sister Maggie and brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard.
Directed by Kenny Leon and produced by Brian A. Moreland, Othello will run for a strictly limited 15-week engagement through June 8, 2025, making it one of the most sought-after theater tickets in New York this season.
