Mike Amiri presents the spring summer 2023 collection campaign. The collection is inspired by Californian clear sky dreaming. Set inside Paris’ Jardin des Plantes, the season’s emblematic signatures are seen: relaxed and re-constructed tailoring, craft, and the house’s skate-inspired MA-1 sneaker silhouette.
The AMIRI Runway
Backdropped by a monolithic MA logo sculpture, the visuals of the SS23 runway mirror the show's scenography. The cinematic campaign is photographed by Jonas Lindstroem under the art direction of Jonny Lu Studio.
Details
Character-driven, each look is styled in tune with its wearer. A double-breasted blazer is deconstructed and reworked, tucked into pleated wide-leg trousers, a varsity jacket is hand-patchworked, and tracksuit silhouettes are rendered in lightweight leather and sophisticated tie-dyed silk charmeuse.
Personalities of the 90s
The personalities of 90s LA are transposed to today, blending European elegance with the casual ease of American sportswear. Tailoring is made weightless, reinvented to float with the grace of jersey, and baggy silhouettes draw a louche yet romantic sophistication.
Tie-dye Compositions
In the Californian heat, tie-dye compositions swirl across loose-knit cashmere as sun-aged wool embraces the distinctive feel of a vintage tee. Tapestry knits are hand-woven to resemble up-cycled vintage blankets, and the season's Pegasus motif pulls fantasy into reality and vice-versa.
90s West Coast Skate Culture
The cast wears AMIRI's new MA-1, defined by a chunky rubber outsole, exaggerated tongue, upper and laces, and detailed star perforations. A bold ode to the 90s West Coast skate culture era, the sneaker silhouette embodies AMIRI’s SS23 spirit of freedom, dreams, and elevation.
