Charles Jeffrey Loverboy spring summer 2019

June 13, 2018

Charles Jeffrey Loverboy presents his namesake collection for spring summer 2019 in London. The ever whimsical designer presented a standout collection to an audience eager to see Jeffrey's latest creations. Introducing a punked-out alien world, the show featured dynamic proportions that recall the aesthetics of science fiction, not to mention glimpses of Star Trek-ish make-up and silver decorative accents.

Presented more as a cheeky metaphor for Jeffrey's otherworldly visions, the show displayed outstanding embroidery and hand drawn patterns that added a personal home-spun DIY feeling to the collection. In one moment, a model walked the runway with a squiggle pattern print applied to trousers that extended up his torso in paint; unmistakably marking the creator's hand in its making and presentation. Also interesting was the sartorial suiting that challenged traditional men's suiting with its colorful cut-out tartan remixes, simultaneously referencing Britain's punk roots and modern-day masculine conformity.
