Nicolas Di Felice was appointed as the art director for Courrèges (check out Rain's highlights for his time at Courrèges here) in 2020, following roles at Balenciaga, Dior and Louis Vuitton. During his time at Courrèges, Di Felice has brought a cult following to the 60s-born brand.

Hosting Jean Paul Gaultier’s next couture show is another feat to add to his CV. Di Felice commented, he was “grateful to get the chance to work with this legendary couture atelier and I cannot wait to dig into the archives”. Hosting JPG couture is a good chance for designers to explore new avenues in their art and creative vision - Di Felice he was looking forward to focussing less on the “practicality and wearability at Courréges” so he would be freer. Di Felice discussed how much of an inspiration Gaultier was to him as a child with WWD. As a boy from a “little village” Gaultier had opened up fashion to a much wider audience with his work.

Gaultier described Di Felice as “bold” and “creative” and choosing him “aligns perfectly with the idea of seeing what a designer can bring to my style”. Gaultier has previously picked the likes of Simone Rocha, Julien Dossena, Haider Ackerman, Olivier Rousteng and Glenn Martens.
