Dior Lifts the Curtain on Its Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 Campaign

July 23, 2024

Harking back to the swinging sixties, Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri propels archival inspiration firmly into the present. The resulting campaign captures an opulent (r)evolution that pays homage to the birth of the first Miss Dior ready-to-wear collection in 1967, under Marc Bohan, through modern interpretations.

A Nostalgic Odyssey Through Time

The collection, captured in mesmerizing imagery by artist Sarah Jones, is an ode to the inventive effervescence of the sixties. Leopard prints, denim, and graphic-applied trench coats present compelling pieces for the desires of today's woman.

Leopard Spots and Logo Pops

Chiuri's genius is in turning back the wheel of time without losing its form or character. The iconic leopard skin motif, a staple of 60s glam, gets a micro makeover, adorning pieces with a subtle yet statement-making presence. But it's the "Miss Dior" logo that steals the show. No longer content to be a mere label, it's now a code, a statement, a rebellion in typography, splashed across trench coats, jackets, and skirts like couture graffiti. Be bold; embody retro-future.

Future Classic Accessories

The accessories are where the past and present mix to form new ideas. The new Miss Dior bag, shown above, becomes a time capsule with a modern lock. Patent pumps strut with the spirit of the go-go boot's sophisticated dance.

The highly coveted Graphic Cannage lines on the Lady Dior and Dior Groove bags create an interplay of textures that is irresistible. To shield from the sun or wandering eyes, the VeryDior M1I – part sunglasses, part headband – are fabulous.

Looking Forward and Backwards

With the Dior AW24 campaign, we’re transported to a timeless moment, a prodigious field of possibilities where the lines between day and night, past and future, blur into tomorrow’s style, today. Under the powerful pen of Chiuri, the campaign is a love letter to the swinging sixties with a modern stamp of approval, addressed to the women of tomorrow.
