Dior Men’s Summer 2025 Brings Ceramicist Vision To Life

January 31, 2025

DIOR MEN'S SUMMER 2025 ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN BY PIETER HUGO

The Dior Men's Summer 2025 campaign, directed by Kim Jones, brings South African ceramicist Hylton Nel's whimsical universe to life through photographer Pieter Hugo's masterful lens.

The campaign unfolds as a dreamlike gallery where models stand atop distinctive yellow checkered pedestals, framed by towering monstera leaves against mint and rose-tinted backdrops. Nel's influence manifests in decorative ceramic cats throughout the images, their glazed surfaces echoing the collection's interplay of texture and form.

Jones' masterful craft emerges in the collection's detailed execution, from a dove-adorned knit turtleneck blooming with cherry blossoms to structured grey suiting softened by innovative scarf collars, a remarkable technical achievement referencing a 1960 Yves Saint Laurent design for the house. Traditional workwear elements are elevated through couture sensibilities, with the humble apron reimagined as a refined belt detail.

Accessories blend functionality through craft with the introduction of the Dior Normandie bag in a sophisticated grained leather. Positioned for everyday elegance, technical innovation emerges in footwear offerings, featuring B35 NXXT sneakers in luxe suede and raffia variations. Traditional clogs transform into sculptural biker boots and derbies.

Models Malick Bodian and Louis Mercurol lead a cast that brings Melanie Ward's styling vision to life. Under Ronnie Cooke Newhouse's artistic direction, flowing prints and crisp white trenches adorned with custom brooches capture a relaxed elegance. Hugo's documentary-style approach merges authenticity with luxury, transforming fashion photography into a rich dialogue among Dior, fine art, and tradition.
