Dior women’s fall 2022

May 1, 2022

Maria Grazia Chiuri presents the Dior women's fall 2022 show in Korea, a first for Dior. This season is inspired by powerful women that contributed to the success of Monsieur Dior. For Chiuri, inspiration is taken from figures such as Christian Dior's sister, Catherine, and Mizza Bricard and Marguerite Carré. These women are the focus of Justine Picardie's book, Miss Dior: A Story of Courage and Couture.

Heritage is also honored this season with a transormed emblem on jute bags. The symbol serves as "a new sisterhood: that of the House of Dior, with the motto L’union fait la force (strength through unity)."

In this collection, we see the iconic punk yellow plaid pattern, forever popularized in the film, Clueless, by Alicia Silverstone. These schoolgirl tropes are revamped and updated to express a new kind of freedom for the Dior woman. Ideas surrounding the uniform are turned upside down.

The rallying cry is brandished by the Dior Fall 2022 line, reaffirming the collaborative dimension at the heart of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creative process.

Further into the depths of this collection are 3D embroidery and pixelated zodiacs. They are rendered in the style of a video game, a nod to our increasingly digital world. Finally, a series of gowns, a signature for Chiuri, solidify a new feminine era under Chirui. Explore the full Dior women's fall 2022 collection below, courtesy of Dior.
