Dries Van Noten presents Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 in Paris. Synonymous with elegance, Dries Van Noten walks a sophisticated and sublime collection. Prince of Wales is played, mixed and matched across full looks, coats and pants. Red and umber undertones root the collection in a decidedly new direction for fall. Oversized shirts and sweaters with sleeves extended far beyond the cuff give otherwise formal affairs a much welcomed breezy and casual elegance, something Dries has perfected over the years. It wouldn’t be Dries without beautiful embroidery and an homage to craft. A graceful embellishment lines the lapel of a smoking jacket and its also worth noting the feminine touches of lace-like cut-outs on pants, coats, and roll-necks – a motif throughout the collection. A series of psychedelic and entropic patterns of color spill across outerwear and coats – the dreamy patterns perhaps recall their roots in the AW16 collection. Images courtesy of Dries Van Noten.
