Fendi haute couture fall winter 2019

Silvia Venturini Fendi presents the Fendi Couture, Autumn/Winter 2019 show in Rome in front of the Coliseum on the Palatine Hill. Venturini Fendi described the collection as a tribute to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld who passed earlier this year. The relationship with Fendi and Lagerfeld dated back to 1965 when he was appointed to modernize their fur line. Lagerfeld famously created the double F logo for Fendi and was instrumental in bringing the brand to a wider, international audience.

With a distinctive 70s flare, muted tans, beiges, and greens appear throughout the collection on coats, stoles, dresses, and accessories. Luxurious light weight furs compliment the ease of sheer fabrics and tulle. Exquisite details like the patchwork of fur and unique embroidery creates a sensual and introspective perspective for fall. This collection pays tribute not only to Lagerfeld but also to the city it was founded in. The last ten looks take inspiration quite literally from mosaic tiles which pay homage to the ancient city of Rome. Explore the full couture collection below. Images courtesy of Fendi.
