Tokyo-based designer, Fumito Ganryu presents the Spring/Summer 2020 Men’s collection in Paris. Taking various natural landscapes as inspiration, scenic designs are reproduced beautifully on bombers, shorts, jackets, trench-coats, and tunics. Tailoring is relaxed while luxurious silks, ultra-lightweight cottons, and linens create looks that float down the runway.
Following the sublime natural looks, a bit of color-blocking reminds us this is also a collection with a modern sensibility. The final part of the show includes eye-catching oversized coats that are reimagined as robes while exaggerated duffel coats mend with kimono sleeves. This is a wearable offering and solid presentation from Ganryu’s third stand-alone collection. Images courtesy of Fumito Ganryu. Exclusive backstage images: Benoit Auguste for RAIN Magazine.
