GIBSH presents the FW 2018-2019 collection in Kiev. The experimental collection featured inventive combinations of fabrications like denim as a scarf or as a ruffled shirt. Clothes from previous collections were interestingly recycled and repurposed and reimagined as new pieces in the new collection – a nod to sustainability, the recyclability of trends, and a continuation of the brand’s language. Inequality was a central theme of the collection. The brand’s creative director, Dmitriy Gibshman, describes in his own terms:
“Inequality is the essence of fashion. That’s why everyone wears designer clothes – to be different, not like others, to be an individual. Not everyone can wear clothes made by expensive brands. There is always someone more successful, more beautiful, slimmer and smarter than others. There is always inequality between people, and fashion underlines it.”
