Matthew M. Williams shows the Givenchy spring summer 2022 show in Paris. Here we see a lot of internal and external references. There are moment of Ricardo era Givenchy mixed in with William's own mastery of utility aesthetics. The strongest feelings come across around the third quarter of the show where colorful layerings and knitwear drape beautifully with sharp tailoring.
A key focus for this collection is the super flared mini skirt. It appears on jackets and as a layering element. Taking the hemline to the point of extinction seems to have split critics, but we say why not?
