Gucci announces its new store opening at 400 W 14th St. on the corner of W 14th Street and 9th Avenue in the Meatpacking District of New York. With two levels, the massive 9,000-square-foot store will feature the latest ready-to-wear, beauty, and accessories collections.
The new store is influenced by the convergence of New York and Florence – two cities that have inspired and transformed the House's 102-year history. Metal mesh ceilings that blend in with the industrial character of the neighborhood contrast with painted cement flooring drawn from historic Florentine marble motifs.
Gucci Meatpacking District channels 1970s aesthetics with its modular approach to décor and vintage mid-century furniture. The second floor features a richly upholstered private area to shop the ready-to-wear collections.
Sustainable Stores
Gucci continues its commitment to sustainability. Furnishings are restored second-hand pieces, and surfaces are decorated with Demetra, an environmentally friendly material. The floor is constructed from Silipol, a 100% recyclable innovative cement composed of natural elements. The new store is LEED certified.
Gucci Vault Continuum
The Meatpacking store will also feature an exclusive physical presence of Gucci's acclaimed Vault's Gucci Continuum. The initiative invites brands, artists, and creators to incorporate the life of past Gucci pieces and headstock fabrics into their creations.
