At Paris Fashion Week, Heliot Emil unveiled its Spring-Summer 2025 collection, titled "Cultural Construct Artificial Landscape." Creative director Julius Juul and business director Victor Juul explored the intricate interplay between nature and artificiality, presenting a thought-provoking vision that captivates the imagination.
The collection's introduction featured a unique invitation—a smooth stone affixed to a metal tab—prompting guests to contemplate the themes of humanity versus artificiality. This concept resonated throughout the show, particularly with the striking installation made from electrochromic glass, created in collaboration with Swiss design studio Encor. The centerpiece not only added visual intrigue but also reacted to the soundtrack, enhancing the dialogue between the organic and the constructed.

Models navigated a labyrinthine runway, drawing the audience closer and creating the intimate atmosphere Juul aimed to evoke. The collection showcased an impressive array of textures and silhouettes, drawing inspiration from Iceland's unique geological features. Dominated by both black-on-black and white-on-white styling, the pieces incorporated curvy lines and draped panels mirroring the smooth contours of natural landscapes. Polished chrome accessories and undulating carabiners accentuated the designs, reinforcing the industrial ethos running through the collection.

The use of monochromatic palettes added depth to the visual narrative. Black-on-black pieces revealed layered textures and intricate designs, fostering a sense of mystery and sophistication. White-on-white ensembles delivered a clean, minimalist aesthetic that highlighted the craftsmanship and fabric manipulation.

Standout pieces included puffer jackets featuring visible openings within a lattice of irregular quilting, striking a balance between maintaining a light, airy feel and offering a contemporary silhouette. The collection also showcased terry-like materials with winding grooves and loose-knit yarn, contributing to an overall sense of organic flow and comfort.

Futuristic design elements such as cooling vents and multi-directional belts further enriched the collection, evoking imagery reminiscent of interplanetary sci-fi narratives. This blend of practicality and avant-garde design creates a compelling vision for the future of fashion, inviting contemplation about our relationship with the environment and technological advancements.

Heliot Emil's Spring-Summer 2025 collection is a captivating exploration of the interplay between nature and technology. By merging fluid shapes with innovative designs, the Juul brothers have crafted a collection that not only addresses the present but also sparks curiosity about the future. This season, Heliot Emil stands out as a forward-thinking brand, encouraging audiences to engage with a narrative that challenges conventional boundaries and highlights the evolving dialogue between the natural world and artificial constructs.
