H&M Marks Two Decades of Designer Collaborations with Archive Re-release

November 1, 2024

H&M celebrates 20 years of groundbreaking designer partnerships with an unprecedented initiative: a curated re-release of pre-loved pieces from its historic collaborations. The project honors the revolutionary legacy that began with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004—a watershed moment that transformed how luxury fashion reached the mainstream consumer.

The carefully curated selection spans two decades of collaborations, from Viktor & Rolf to Versace, Marni to Moschino, offering fashion enthusiasts a rare second opportunity to acquire pieces from these coveted collections. Sourced through partnerships with online resale platform Sellpy and global vintage retailers, the initiative aligns with H&M's vision for circular fashion innovation.

The global rollout began on October 24 at Paris Lafayette, followed by drops at flagship locations including London's Regent Street, Milan's Duomo, and New York's Soho store. "Our aim was to introduce the world of fashion to consumers globally, while showcasing our connection to strong, thoughtful and original design," says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

This archive collection features pieces from 22 legendary collaborations, including designs by Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, and most recently, Rabanne and Mugler. The initiative culminates in an online release at hm.com on October 31, bringing these historic pieces to a new generation while celebrating the enduring impact of H&M's designer collaboration program.
