Timothée Chalamet made a memorable appearance at the 97th Annual Academy Awards Nominees Dinner in Los Angeles last month, stepping onto the red carpet in a custom GapStudio ensemble. Designed by Zac Posen, Gap Inc.’s Executive Vice President and Creative Director, the chic satin set blends high fashion with accessible style. The glossy black duchess satin jacket and trousers were paired with a classic black tee, creating a minimalist yet bold aesthetic that perfectly captured Chalamet’s fearless approach to fashion.
The ensemble, inspired by American folk icon Bob Dylan, marks the debut of GapStudio’s first-ever custom men’s look. “This look transcends fashion,” said Posen. “It symbolizes heritage, legacy, and cultural evolution.” Posen also drew on the parallels between Bob Dylan’s cultural impact in the 1960s and Gap’s own legacy, with its first store opening in 1969—creating a look that honors these iconic moments in American culture.
A Limited Edition Look
Though Chalamet didn't win an Oscar for his portrayal of Bob Dylan, you can still own his show-stopping red-carpet look. Gap is now offering a limited version of his custom satin set as part of the new GapStudio collection. This limited-edition look is available for pre-sale starting March 8, giving fashion lovers the chance to own a piece of this iconic ensemble.

A High-Low Fashion Moment with GapStudio
Chalamet’s GapStudio look was a true high-low fashion moment. The actor elevated his satin set with nearly $80,000 worth of Cartier jewelry, including a $63,500 Trinity necklace and an onyx-and-diamond Les Berlingots ring valued at $14,900. His choice of accessories brought an extra layer of luxury to the Oscars Nominee Dinner look.
A New Direction for Gap
With the debut of GapStudio, the brand is reimagining what it means to be stylish, modern, and accessible. Under Zac Posen’s creative direction, Gap is positioning itself as a leader in the fashion world, appealing to both long-time fans of the brand and fashion-forward newcomers.
