JW Anderson presents its latest statement accessory: the Loafer bag, which first captivated audiences during its Spring 2025 runway debut at Men's Fashion Week. Following the success of cult favorites like the Pierce bag, Anchor Bag, and most recently the Bumper Bag, this innovative design transforms the classic penny loafer into a sophisticated handbag silhouette.
Drawing inspiration from traditional footwear craftsmanship, the rectangular shoulder bag features a distinctive whale-tail penny keeper detail meticulously hand-sewn with box stitches that echo the original shoe construction. The base is thoughtfully sculpted to mirror a loafer's sole, while the handle's crafted form pays homage to the shoe's characteristic welt.
Crafted in Italy, the Loafer bag comes in two sizes: classic and large. The classic iteration is offered in four colorways of smooth calf leather—off-white, pecan, and black—with an additional option in chocolate brown suede. The Weekender version, available in a larger format, comes in black leather and chocolate suede. Each piece is finished with refined silver hardware, featuring pullers embossed with the JW Anderson logo.
Originally showcased across both menswear and womenswear collections during the Spring 2025 runway shows, the bag's omnipresence signaled its importance in the brand's accessory lineup. This convergence of footwear heritage and contemporary bag design marks another milestone in JW Anderson's history of innovative accessories.
The Loafer bag will be available from November 25 at JW Anderson boutiques in London Soho, Milan, Tokyo's Shibuya Parco, and on jwanderson.com.
