Loro Piana and Dimoremilano Present 'La Prima Notte di Quiete' at Milan Design Week 2025

Loro Piana and Dimoremilano have collaborated on a curation of cinema, design, and fashion at Milan Design Week 2025. Their collaboration, La Prima Notte di Quiete, invites guests into an immersive experience that blurs the lines between reality and cinematic fantasy.

Upon entering Loro Piana’s Cortile della Seta courtyard, visitors encounter a vintage cinema foyer: red velvet curtains, leopard-spotted carpeting, and a theatrical air that sets the stage for an extraordinary journey through a meticulously designed home.

The installation unfolds across six rooms: foyer, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and garden. Each space is illuminated like scenes in a film, drawing on warm earth tones to create an atmosphere of quiet opulence. Loro Piana’s signature textiles—cashmere, wool, velvet, and sisal—transform the space into a tactile exploration of luxury.

The Valsesia oval table, upholstered in Altai wool and cashmere, takes center stage in the dining room. Its design resonates in the Varallo round bed, where mohair velvet lines a padded headboard. The continuous design language ties the collection together.

The Locarno cabinets, inspired by museum vitrines, feature Altai fabric suspended between mirrored glass panels, marking an evolution for Loro Piana with lacquered finishes and metal components. Dimoremilano’s sculptural pieces, like the Bullet ceiling lamp and Snooker couch, are reimagined in Loro Piana’s textiles, creating a dialogue between contemporary design and craftsmanship. A sonic landscape, composed by Nicola Guiducci, blends domestic sounds—rain, a distant phone ring, piano notes—creating an immersive auditory experience.

Loro Piana also unveils the Punti a Maglia tableware collection, handcrafted in Limoges porcelain. Its interwoven thread motif connects French porcelain heritage with the brand’s textile expertise.

What sets La Prima Notte di Quiete apart is its balance of silence and movement, theatricality and intimacy. It offers more than exquisite objects; it provides a moment of tranquility in a fragmented world.

La Prima Notte di Quiete runs from April 8-13, 2025, at Loro Piana’s Cortile della Seta in Milan. Timed entry is available through booking.loropiana.com.
