About Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades
Created in 2012, the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades collection features inventive and functional furniture and objects by a growing roster of international designers. Patricia Urquiola, Inidia Mahdavi, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Atelier Oï, Raw Edges, Atelier Biagetti, Frank Chou, and Marcel Wanders Studio are some of the featured designers in the 60 piece collection.
This year, five new Objets Nomades will be unveiled in Milan: Atelier Oï's Belt Chair, the Belt Bar Stool, Side Stool, and Lounge Chair. The fourth object is a four-seater version of Campana Brothers' Bomboca, a modular sofa inspired by confectionery served at Brazilian weddings and children's parties. Finally, there is Raw Edges' Cosmic Table, a table with an infinity shaped carbon-fiber base and a weathered-metal finished glass top.
The Nova House
Lastly, there is an architectural component. After Charlotte Perriand’s La Maison au bord de l’eau (2015), Matti Suuronen’s Futuro House (2017), George Candilis’s Hexacube (2018), and Shigeru Ban’s Paper Temporary Studio (2019), this year, Louis Vuitton brings the Nova House to Milan.
Designed in 1972 by architects Michel Hudrisier and M. Roma for Studio Rochel, the Nova House is a striking ovoid “living pod”, with a steel frame covered with 180 made-to-measure aluminium-alloy strips. The building, which packs two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom into its 45m2, will be on view for the duration of the Salone.
The Nova House will be on display at Piazza San Babila, Milan, from 7th to 12th June 2022.
