As Louis Vuitton embarks on a multi-year renovation of its Fifth Avenue flagship, the brand unveils two spectacular projects: a towering 240-foot façade of stacked trunks at its original location and its largest U.S. store yet at 6 East 57th Street. The trunk installation, which fully envelops the existing building with a base measuring 108 by 70 feet, pays homage to the House’s iconic Trianon Grey canvas, now reimagined with the Monogram Flower motif for the first time. Crafted with impeccable attention to detail, it features 5,000-pound handles and 840 rivets. The flagship introduces a pioneering retail experience, blending high fashion, fine dining, and immersive cultural offerings across five floors.

In the atrium, four towering Courrier Lozine 90 trunks rise 16 meters toward the ceiling, celebrating the brand’s storied legacy in trunk-making while showcasing its modern reinvention. Crafted to exact specifications, the trunks spiral upward in dynamic, twisting forms that balance both strength and lightness, each showcasing Louis Vuitton’s materials—from classic Monogram canvas to bold metallic finishes.
A second monumental installation unfolds at the rear of the atrium: an 18-meter-high wall of mirrored bags, arranged in rhythmic undulations of Keepall and Speedy. This dazzling sculpture serves not only as a work of art but also as a dynamic reflection of the store's ever-evolving energy. The space is further enriched by oversized photo murals of collaborations with artists such as Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince, underscoring Louis Vuitton’s ongoing dialogue with contemporary art.
The store’s design seamlessly blends raw concrete with luxurious details—exposed floors meet plush carpets, and vintage furniture by Carlo Mollino and Charlotte Perriand sits alongside works by celebrated New York artists. Guided by the Michelin-starred chefs Arnaud Donckele and Maxime Frédéric, the café’s menu reimagines luxury snacking—an inventive take on familiar dishes, including Monogram-embossed lobster ravioli and Damier tartlets, along with the beloved Croque sandwiches, making their transatlantic debut.
