Louis Vuitton demonstrates its horological mastery with the unveiling of the Montgolfière Aéro, an extraordinary timepiece that merges the maison's storied trunk-making heritage with Swiss watchmaking precision.
The collection features two exceptional interpretations: a traditional version, showcasing handcrafted red and transparent glass panels, and an exclusive eight-piece limited edition, adorned with precious wood and high-jewelry elements. At the heart of each timepiece lies a mechanical Swiss movement, powered by L’Épée 1839, which drives the time display. Meanwhile, a miniature Louis Vuitton trunk, crafted with the house’s signature malletier expertise, forms the Monogrammed gondola.
The jeweled edition highlights Louis Vuitton’s haute joaillerie expertise, featuring a specially cut 9.06-carat citrine briolette that crowns the central Monogram Flower. The timepiece sparkles with 1,200 diamonds, while the precious wood trunk is adorned with diamond-set studs—a first in Louis Vuitton's history.
Standing at 34 centimeters tall, each Montgolfière Aéro can be displayed as a table clock or suspended to create the illusion of weightlessness. The timepiece pays homage to the house's innovative spirit, specifically the 1906 Malle Aéro trunk designed for hot air balloon voyages.
The Montgolfière Aéro is the latest in a long line of exceptional creations that blend traditional trunk-making savoir-faire with contemporary innovation. It will be available at Louis Vuitton boutiques and online at louisvuitton.com, accompanied by a specially designed trunk crafted in the house's historic Asnières atelier.
