Luisa Beccaria Debuts Spring-Summer 2025 Floral Collection with Refined and Romantic Soul

October 11, 2024

Amidst the lush greenery of ever-elegant Lu Bar, as lilting notes of a garden party soundtrack played in the background, Luisa Beccaria presented a sophisticated floral collection that seemed to have been lifted straight from Renoir’s “Bal du Moulin de Galette.” The collection had an Impressionist soul, as a color palette dominated by pastels and rustic tones was a perfect complement to Lu Bar’s idyllic morning ambience. Beccaria and her daughter Lucille Bonaccorsi, who collaborates with the brand, created a sartorial fairy tale by gracefully weaving between pastoral and glamorous aesthetics.

The runway seemed like a ballet stage upon which the guests were active extras; models coyly meandered and at times pirouetted between fashion luminaries sipping on cappuccinos and carrot juice. Just like a ballet, the collection had many acts. Cotton sundresses in earthy tones perfect for a casual picnic were presented alongside shimmering evening wear with intricate  floral patterning and lace details.

Togetherness: A Celebration of Family and Femininity

Luisa Beccaria has always been a conscientious brand centered on family values and deeply cognizant of the importance of loyalty and prioritizing the ones you love. This was reflected in the title of the collection, “Togetherness,” a warm atmosphere more reminiscent of an intimate family affair than a traditional fashion show, and the limited number of guests, most of whom attend Beccaria’s events season after season. They bore witness to a beautiful celebration of femininity, as delicate dresses were the canvas for cascading flowers and deceptively complex nature-inspired patterns. The majority of looks were delightfully dainty on the verge of ethereal; particular favorites included a pink dress with a quasi-transparent floral gown, a form-fitting lace dress that I would describe as bohemian bridal, and pure white lace skirt that slowly sashayed down the runway paired with a matching cropped blouse.

These pieces were contrasted by surprising structured alternatives, including a tan trench coat-inspired dress, a safari jacket worn over a white shirt with dramatically ruffled cuffs, and shoulder pads draped over a gown. Midriff was shown frequently, discerningly, and tastefully, unfailingly adding to the symmetry of looks rather than detracting from the collection’s enchanting aesthetic.

Becaria occasionally stepped away from pastels for more bold pieces  that nonetheless retained the reserved elegance of a princess. Her use of seafoam green, lavender, and shimmering teal (each silhouette adorned with a delicate pattern) interjected youthful pops of playful personality amidst the more traditional looks. They simultaneously recalled the vivid dresses worn by Parisian bourgeoisie at leisure in the late 1800’s, as memorialized by Renoir, and the mesmerizing beauty of Monet’s water lilies.

Spring-Summer 2025 a Triumph for Beccaria

In a season in which pastels dominated the runways of Milan, Luisa Beccaria’s Spring-Summer 2025 offering was one of the strongest. Cohesive at heart, despite the versatile range of pieces, the collection stayed true to Beccaria’s DNA, is a celebration of her values, and whether for leisurely picnics or glamorous garden parties, contains some essential looks for the coming season.
