Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster partner together to launch eleven new original designs for sunglasses and optical frames. The new capsule threads details of Margiela’s signature stitch logo on exquisite bold designs that share the brands’ uncompromised approach to creativity and self-expression.
The highly anticipated collaboration will be released on February 28th worldwide at Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela’s on and offline stores and select retailers across the globe.
Born in the Atelier
Conceived by Maison Margiela’s Creative Director John Galliano and the global fashion eyewear brand Gentle Monster, the genderless line is founded on concepts developed in the artisanal atelier. The collection maintains a shared belief in experimental craftsmanship. The union constructs a new ‘Créature’ through a unique campaign with Katerina Jebb’s high-resolution scanning technique.

The Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster line offers structured frames in acetate and is interpreted in a gloss color palette of black, white, gray, translucent, and tortoiseshell. Styles include the MM003, MM004, MM005 – details below. Prices range from: $320-$680 USD.
To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster pop-ups will be held in seven cities around the world: New York (USA) / Seoul (South Korea) / Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu (China) / Singapore, and London (UK).
