Marina Abramovic is restaging her famous work ‘The Artist Is Present’ to raise money for Ukraine

Marina Abramovic will be reperforming her renown work 'The Artist Is Present' to raise money for Ukraine. Twelve years ago, thousands of people attended the performance at the MoMA in New York. Many camped for a chance to sit across from Abramović to experience the work. Abramović will auction two seats across from her in a re-performance of the piece. "Now, this is not Ukraine anymore. It's all of us. It's about humanity. It's about the possibility of facing a third World War using nuclear weapons. This is something where all of us have to act, and I can only act with my own tools, and this is my performance."

At a recent press conference Abramovic also noted her installation in Ukraine, the "Crystal Wall of Crying" had been destroyed. The monument commemorated Jews killed in the Babyn Yar massacre.
