The New Museum unveils its Summer 2019 exhibitions in New York. RAIN had a first look at the unveiled exhibitions from artists: Mika Rottenberg, Marta Minujín, Lubaina Himid, Diedrick Brackens, Melanie Crean, Shaun Leonardo, Sable Elyse Smith, and Sydney Shen.
Mika Rottenberg exhibited a series of works: Easypieces, including the film “NoNoseKnows,” a surrealist commentary on the interconnectedness of global production and consumption that first showed at the 2015 Venice Biennale. Also on display is the film, “Spaghetti Blockchain,” 2019, which wryly traces the influence of technology from ASMR to Tuvan throat singing to CERN – Rottenberg imagines the underlying structures within culture that connects them.
Below are a selection of film stills and images from the exhibitions. Please visit the New Museum website to plan your visit.
