On April 24th, at the 2025 Planned Parenthood New York Gala at Cipriani South Street, Olivia Rodrigo was presented with the Catalyst of Change award. The 22-year-old artist marked the occasion in a striking Gucci Pre-Fall 2025 gown, a clean-lined white viscose silk cady piece, accented with the house’s signature Horsebit detail and a subtle side slit.
The gown’s refined halter neckline set the tone for Rodrigo’s heartfelt acceptance speech, where she spoke about the deep bond she feels with her largely young, female audience. “When I play shows, I look out at crowds filled with young girls and the bond I feel with them is profound,” she told the attentive room of donors and board members.

Rodrigo’s activism is as much a part of her identity as her music. Through her Fund 4 Good initiative, launched during her Guts World Tour, the Grammy-winning artist has raised over $2 million for organizations supporting reproductive rights, girls' education, and the prevention of gender-based violence. Her commitment to these causes has been a defining thread in her public life, underscored by her vocal response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
The evening also recognized Amanda Zurawski, a Texas woman who sued the state after being denied critical abortion care. In her speech, Rodrigo honored both Zurawski and the late Cecile Richards, former president of Planned Parenthood, reminding the audience that fighting for reproductive rights isn’t about being fearless—it’s about continuing despite fear, anger, or hopelessness.
Rodrigo’s choice of pristine white Gucci felt right—not just for its elegance, but for how it echoed her closing words: “We can be scared, we can be angry, we can feel hopeless. We just have to keep fighting.”
