Alejandro Gómez Palomo's latest collection for Palomo Spain, "All of Heaven's Parties," transforms New York's Fourth Universalist Society into a realm where desire and divinity intertwine. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection continues the designer's exploration of human sexuality through a historical lens
Heavenly Inspiration, Earthly Execution
Palomo poses a provocative question: "Why are emotions so intrinsic to our humanity — like lust, desire, and attraction — condemned with the threat of hell?" This inquiry sets the tone for a collection that reimagines heaven as a playground for earthly pleasures.
The designer draws inspiration from Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki's work, particularly his fusion of kinbaku-bi bondage art with floral imagery. This influence allows Palomo to elevate sexual expression from instinct to art form. Helmut Newton's iconic glamour also leaves its mark, infusing the collection with 1920s-inspired decadence.
Textures and Silhouettes
Signature Palomo Spain fabrics make a strong showing: denim, taffeta, and silk organza take center stage. Hand-embroidered fringes nod to Spanish craftsmanship, while oversized sequins and Swarovski crystals add celestial sparkle.
The silhouettes juxtapose revealing and concealing elements. Micro shorts pair with dress shirts featuring exaggerated cuffs and collars. The color palette spans from pure whites and deep blacks to earthy tobacco brown, vibrant orange, regal purple, and classic denim blue.
Artistic Beauty
Makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez, collaborating with MAC Cosmetics, created looks that balance ethereal and grounded elements. Delicate skin serves as a canvas for bold, feathered accents.
Laurent Philippon's hair styling, sponsored by Redken / Cutler, offers polished looks that contrast with the collection's more dramatic pieces. Tolentino Hats contributes colorful ostrich feather wigs, adding a touch of divine exuberance.
BIMBA Y PALOMO: Day and Night
The runway show unveiled the second iteration of Palomo Spain's collaboration with Bimba y Lola. This "BIMBA Y PALOMO" capsule, available immediately after the show, presents a duality of day and night looks.
Daytime pieces channel a bold femininity with animal prints and structured silhouettes. Evening wear embraces 1930s Hollywood glamour, featuring red carpet-ready gowns in delicate tulles and chiffons, playful transparencies, and statement faux fur coats.
A New Vision
With "All of Heaven's Parties," Palomo Spain challenges preconceptions about desire, sexuality, and social norms. The collection serves as both a visual feast and a conversation starter, reminding us that fashion can be a powerful medium for challenging established ideas.
As models walked the runway in this boundary-pushing collection, one thing became clear: Palomo Spain has created a new vision of paradise—one where pleasure and virtue coexist in harmony.
