At NBC's "SNL50: The Anniversary Special," Sabrina Carpenter joined Paul Simon for the show's opening performance, captivating audiences in an exquisite Atelier Versace creation.
The custom Versace piece featured a nude-illusion tulle one-shoulder design with a gracefully draped neckline. The gown's defining feature was its all-over bead and pearl chandelier hand-embroidery. As the face of Versace's Biggies campaign, Carpenter embodied the house's signature elegance.

Carpenter and Simon performed "Homeward Bound," the 1966 classic from "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme." Carpenter noted she wasn't born when Simon performed the song with George Harrison on SNL in 1976 — and neither were her parents. Together, they closed their performance with the show's iconic opening line, "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!"
The performance set the tone for an evening celebrating SNL's legacy, with additional performances like Miley Cyrus' heartfelt tribute to the late Sinéad O'Connor. With a touch of past and present, Carpenter's appearance and performance exemplified the special's celebration of artistic excellence across generations.
