Anthony Vaccarello presents the Saint Laurent FW22 collection lookbook in a breathtaking series of images.
Belle de Jour
Taking inspiration from Luis Bunuel's 1967 film, Belle de Jour, Vaccarello transposes moments of broody dark glamour into his men's fall winter collection. Vaccarello told Vogue on Bunuel's influence on the costume design, "The androgyne leather trench, the gold teeth…everything was done by Bunuel in this movie."
It wasn't only the film that inspired the collection but also the contemporary moment we are living in and the fast changing masculine identity.
“When I did [this collection] I was thinking about the mood in the past, before the war,” Vaccarello says. “No one was talking about what we are facing now, but I just felt something was in the air; I wanted to pay tribute to those years.”
