TikTok rarity Mareux releases new single ‘Night Vision’ with accompanying video

Following his viral cover of The Cure's "The Perfect Girl," the darkwave artist releases "Night Vision," accompanied by a music video featuring RuPaul's Drag Race favorite, Gottmik.

DAZED described Mareux's music as a "creeping earworm," and "Night Vision" is no different. The artist threads the ethereal guitar through a steady beat to create a gloomy atmosphere.

The lyrics are deeply confessional. "I never felt so helpless until tonight," he sings. The video, which features Gottmik as a nightclub maitre d', mimics the noir-natured lyricism. The visual follows a somber downtrodden businessman with his gaze locked on a procession of performers.

The release comes with the announcement of a North American tour beginning in May. The tour will start in California with stops from Salt Lake City, UT, to Brooklyn, NY.

The singer will also make appearances during both weekends of Coachella.
