To celebrate its 50th anniversary, international travel and lifestyle brand TUMI has unveiled a capsule that reframes travel gear as a design object. TUMI’s 19 Degree Aluminum Gold Collection reinterprets a classic line with a limited-edition, high-shine finish—where function meets collectible design.


Under the creative direction of Victor Sanz, the collection reflects both heritage and ambition. “We wanted to do something truly special for our 50th anniversary,” Sanz explains. “And what better way to celebrate than by taking our iconic 19 Degree design and giving it a bold, metallic gold twist? This ultra-limited-edition drop is all about celebrating where we’ve been—50 years of pushing boundaries in design and craftsmanship—and where we’re headed.”
The result is a sculptural reinterpretation of TUMI’s signature aluminum silhouettes—now rendered in Bullion Gold, a luminous finish that shimmers with intent. Each case features the brand’s architectural 19 Degree contours and is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum.
The capsule includes four silhouettes: a Briefcase, a Carry-On, a Watch Case, and a Minaudière. Each design is produced in a numbered edition of just 250 units globally, elevating them from travel companions to objets d’art. Every piece arrives with a commemorative 50th anniversary patch and unique edition number, nodding to its limited-run design.
Prices range from $650 to $1,995, and the collection offers something rare: functional pieces that double as style statements. With their polished curves and bold finish, these cases are as likely to be seen on a private tarmac as they are featured in editorial spreads.
The collection launched globally on April 25th via TUMI.com and at select flagship stores. In North America, it is available in exclusive retail destinations including Rockefeller Center, South Coast Plaza, Tysons Galleria, and more. Select styles will also appear in boutiques across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East—from Tokyo to Paris to São Paulo—affirming TUMI’s status as a borderless luxury brand.
