Twelve visionary artists open a new dialogue with Alexander McQueen’s latest collection
June 9, 2022

Alexander McQueen invites twelve visionary artists to interpret the women's fall winter 2022 collection for the 'Process' project. Acknowledging creativity comes from a multitude of perspectives, Alexander McQueen Creative Director, Sarah Burton, chose twelve different voices to respond to the brands' silhouettes. The rich dialogue that emerges between fashion house and artistic expression gives the pre-collection new life. Moreover, it pays homage to the wildly artistic heritage of the brand. Later, the project will unfold into a temporary installation in London where the works will be shown over the next few weeks.
The artists invited for the project include: Ann Cathrin November Høibo, Beverly Semmes, Bingyi, Cristina de Middel, Guinevere van Seenus, Hope Gangloff, Marcia Kure, Jackie Nickerson, Jennie Jieun Lee, Judas Companion, Marcela Correa, Marcia Michael.
“I wanted to engage in a new creative dialogue with the collection this season and see how the artists interpreted the work that we created in the studio. It’s been very interesting to see how creativity has sprung from so many different perspectives, and the outcomes that have been varied and beautiful. We wanted the artists to have total freedom to respond to the looks, creating bold and thought-provoking conversations with their works. I hope that viewers will be as inspired as we have all been by witnessing these creative processes.”
