Ujoh Spring-Summer 2025: Collaboration with Reebok Combines Smart Tailoring with Sports-Chic

Amidst an era of ever-increasing collaborations between sportswear and luxury fashion brands, Ujoh and Reebok teamed up for a refreshing and smartly tailored contribution to the Spring-Summer 2025 discourse. Known for crisp lines, tightly structured use of symmetries and asymmetries, and a minimalist color palette of sand beige and slate grey, Ujoh may not be the first brand that leaps to mind when one speaks about the bold sportswear that defined Reebok in the 1990s. Yet there is also a surprising synergy between modern Ujoh and retro Reebok: synergy born out of a shared appreciation for bold silhouettes and an emphasis on maintaining a balance of practicality and effortless style in an urban setting.

Ujoh’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection can be considered among the best collaborations of the season, as the injection of Reebok’s ‘90s sensibilities completed a retro modern aesthetic that was sleek and contemporary with a touch of added swagger.

Ujoh’s Evolution from Cozy Luxury to Casual Elegance

Ujoh’s F/W 24/25 Collection of form-enveloping knitwear, inspired by the photography of Bruce Weber and perfect for an exquisitely melancholic stroll along a wintry Hamptons beach, introduced us to a new type of cozy luxury. This season, predictably defined by more lightweight forms, spoke to an equally casual but more breezy elegance. It also saw the continuation of some common themes.

Having presciently previewed current trends by introducing yellow and purple pastels into his collection this past February, Mitsuro Nishizaki embraced cheerful tones of lilac, sky blue, leaf green, and terracotta this season. Nestled amidst a sea of timeless black, sand, and beige, these colors cast the entire collection in a dye of serene optimism. Favorite looks included a cropped green jacket with a matching asymmetrical skirt, a one-sleeved blue shawl worn dramatically like a cape over a tailored black blazer, and exquisitely draped shirts of washed satin decorated with shibori tie-dye.

Reebok Collaboration Adds Sporting Touches to Graceful Collection

I would posit that the ideal Ujoh wearer (this collection presented both women’s and men’s looks) has a modern lifestyle and an effortlessly chic style that can easily transition from day to evening and through a balanced range of differing activities. The Reebok logo appeared in unexpected places throughout the collection, adding a casual sporting touch to an array of graceful draped pieces. Particularly noteworthy from the collaboration was a track jacket worn in a complexly layered look featuring a fan-style train and sporty color blocking in teal and gray.

Effectively combining athletic, streetwear, and Japanese minimalist sensibilities, it reflects an exciting and sophisticated new direction for Ujoh.  Whether the collaboration with Reebok is a one-time foray into the sportswear world or the beginning of a longer-term partnership, it has expanded the Ujoh universe to a broader audience and hints at exciting new sartorial realms to which Nishizaki can contribute his creativity and technical expertise.
