VERSACE FALL-WINTER 2025

Bold Tailoring, Signature Prints and Empowered Femininity Define The FW25 Collection from Donatella Versace

Donatella Versace's Fall-Winter 2025 collection was a fashion spectacle, bringing empowered femininity, bold tailoring, and signature Versace opulence to Milan Fashion Week. Dubbed the "Versace Superheroes," this collection embodies the timeless values of Versace: freedom, individuality and integrity reinvented for a new mentality.

Set in a Milan tram depot, the industrial backdrop created a striking contrast to the glamour and extravagance of the collection. Tall metallic structures and moody lighting set the tone for a show that merged dark allure with dynamic energy.

Versace's FW25 collection showcased sophistication with a lineup of structured blazers, oversized coats and fitted trousers. Suits came with exaggerated shoulders, cinched waists and impeccable cuts, embodying confidence. The collection featured silk shirts, leather trousers, and slinky dresses, creating a mix of luxury and rebellion.

Structured leather coats added a dramatic, almost villainous edge, reinforcing the superhero aesthetic. This was particularly evident in Looks 14, 55, 27, 41, and 63, where the superhero inspiration was most pronounced. Look 5 exemplified this theme with its commanding silhouette and exquisite detailing.

Versace's iconic leopard prints and baroque motifs were infused into ball gowns, mini dresses, shirts, and jackets. Geometric designs added edginess and a modern feel. Even homeware elements, like printed duvets, were reimagined as voluminous, fluffed-up puffer gowns.

Look 2 featured a golden corset with intricate lace-up details, highlighting Versace's emphasis on sculpted silhouettes and historical references. The corset was paired with a voluminous bubble-like skirt made from quilted, gold and blue brocade-inspired fabric featuring the house's signature baroque motifs. The ensemble was completed with spiked heels and a studded choker, reinforcing the collection's punk-inspired undertones.

Naomi Campbell famously wore a similar metallic fringed dress in Versace's Fall-Winter 1998 collection. The dress was a striking silver, liquid-like gown with shredded, razor-cut fringe, creating an effect of movement and fluidity, much like the one in this Versace FW25 collection (Look 60).

Both dresses feature metallic fringe, lending a dynamic, futuristic feel. While FW98 had a more fluid, bias-cut silhouette, FW25 introduced sharper, structured textures, giving it a modern, cyberpunk-inspired edge. This callback to FW98 highlights Donatella Versace's mastery of reinvention, proving how iconic archival designs can evolve into something fresh yet nostalgic.

The buzz of the night included Romeo Beckham making a surprise appearance on the Versace FW25 catwalk in a sultry metallic chine top that echoed Naomi's earlier historic dress.

Celebrity guests also in attendance included Cillian Murphy, Ice Spice, Hyunjin, Aaron Piper, Ramala Ali.

Accessories and details featured studded gloves, metallic embellishments, and Medusa medallions, adding an urban warrior energy to the collection. The collection debuted the Virtus bag featuring a new V signifier - a rounded, semi-circular top-handle design that added a bold finishing touch.

The beauty look was fierce and fearless, with glowing skin reflecting the timeless beauty of the Versace woman. Smoky, metallic eyes in gunmetal and gold tones evoked the mystique of a superhero mask, while dark lipstick created a bold yet balanced aesthetic. It was more than just a fashion show; it was a manifesto. The collection was a statement that confidence, individuality, and attitude are the ultimate superpowers.

"My Versace Superheroes. Our house codes are recognised all over the world and make us strong. I love clothes that empower, that give strength and confidence. Everyone should have a little Versace attitude. With this collection, I am not following any rules - only the rules of the Versace DNA."

– With love, Donatella Versace
