VISUAL TALES, the online menswear lifestyle magazine founded by John Tan, premieres its first virtual runway show during NYFW this season, MARTIN KEEHN. Through conceptual to tell-it-like-it-is images and film shorts, the publication brings together leading creative talents and established models and personalities, resulting in collaborations of the highest order.
The final outcome is intended to inform, educate, stimulate, and inspire. The selected designer is New York Downtown Lower East Side’s MARTIN KEEHN who has been a fixture of this neighborhood with his shop at 53 Ludlow St. which has been simultaneously a gallery and retail space for many years.
KEEHN has been designing menswear for nearly two decades and worked extensively as a master tailor for some of the most established designers and celebrities including Calvin Klein, Madonna, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, and Rihanna for special performance collaborations and tour costumes. His collections consist of signature pieces inspired by everyday archetypes, pop art, minimalism, and brutalist architecture: jeans, pants, shorts, T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, outerwear, leather pieces, accessories like hats and bags, and limited runs geared towards the “art-minded, fashion-obsessed, multi-racial demographic between the ages of 16 and 65.”
