In a striking celebration of fashion's theatrical heritage, Vivienne Westwood presents its Spring-Summer 2025 campaign, orchestrated by creative director Andreas Kronthaler and captured through the distinctive lens of photographer Juergen Teller.
Set against meticulously crafted backdrops by Bernhard Wilhelm, the campaign draws inspiration from legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland's infamous red room portraits. Lush jungle scenes, reimagined through Teller's signature guerrilla photography style, create a dramatic interplay between artifice and nature. This tension between constructed and organic environments serves as a canvas for the collection's bold narrative.

Throughout the collection, heritage and innovation intertwine. A scarlet gown with cascading tulle creates dramatic movement, channeling couturier Madeleine Vionnet's revolutionary draping techniques. The house's tailoring prowess shines in Prince of Wales check suiting, where traditional patterns meet unconventional proportions – oversized blazers paired with abbreviated shorts create a contemporary silhouette. A carefully considered palette of imperial purples and cardinal reds anchors the collection, each hue selected for its transformative power and cultural significance.

Under stylist Sabina Schreder's masterful direction, each look captures the house's signature duality. Model Tish Weinstock embodies this tension, photographed amid stacks of bound documents in a bold pink and blue plaid suit. The double-breasted jacket and matching trousers are paired with a coordinating quilted handbag in the same striking check pattern, while burgundy leather shoes ground the look – a playful subversion of corporate dress codes.

"Fashion is about beauty and joy; it links us to each other, which is important for the world we live in," reflects Kronthaler on the campaign's vision, which seeks to merge individual expression with collective cultural memory. The result is a series of portraits that transcend conventional fashion imagery, celebrating the transformative power of clothing while honoring the house's legacy of artistic disruption.

The campaign's cast, a deliberate mix of creative forces, features Kronthaler's own magnetic presence alongside the sculptural elegance of models Luc Defont-Saviard and Rafe Crane. Against Wilhelm's sets, they embody the house's evolution – where punk sensibility meets refinement, and irreverence finds harmony with artistry. It's a visual declaration that after decades of disrupting fashion's landscape, Vivienne Westwood's revolutionary spirit remains undiminished, yet increasingly sophisticated.
